What is evidenced is stated. So is what isn’t.
Every player shirt gets one of four provenance tiers. The tier follows what I can evidence, not what is likely.
The four tiers
Worn in a match. I can name the match and have evidence for it.
Evidence: Directly from the player or via club and kit man, match photo, signs of wear, match patches.
Prepared for a specific match, with match print and patches. Use is not evidenced.
Evidence: Via club or player, match print, match details and patches.
Player-spec shirt issued to the player, with no link to a specific match.
Evidence: Via club or player, player cut and player-spec labels.
Player spec, but without evidence of origin. I state this openly.
Evidence: None. Typical for auction purchases without documentation.
Edition sold in shops. No player specification, therefore no provenance tier. Collectible through season, rarity, condition and signature.
Where the shirts come from
Received in person, often with dedication or signature.
Through contacts at clubs, mainly in Italy.
From collectors whose information I check.
From auctions. I keep the tier only if documentation supports it.
My rules
- I never state a higher tier than I can evidence.
- Retail versions get no tier, as they claim no match link.
- If a detail is uncertain, the description says so.
- With every purchase you receive number, photos and provenance by email.
- I answer provenance questions before you buy.
